Joanna Pietrowski

Joanna passed away at her home in Bonita Springs Florida with her loving husband, Anthony, of nearly 65 years at her side. She is also survived by 4 Children and their spouses, David(Cyndi), Donald(Lisa), Donna(Mark Hurley) and Dennis(Christine), 11 Grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Ashley, Matthew, Jaimie, Jessica, Jameson, Christopher, Kara, Kelsey, Nicholaus and 8 great grandchildren McKenna, Emma, Amelia, Liam, Zoey, Guinevere, Elowyn, and Joseph. She was born in Detroit to Mary(Powrozek) Paczwa and Andrew Paczwa, and her three siblings Irene (Paczwa) Celeski, Eleanor (Paczwa) Pierscinski and Edward Paczwa, all having preceded her in death. Anthony and Joanna were high school sweethearts who fell for each other almost 70 years ago! They raised the family in Warren, Michigan before moving to White Lake Township, Michigan and then Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and retiring to Sanibel and Bonita Springs Florida. Professionally, she helped Anthony build up a very successful market research company (RDA) which provided a work home for their children and a multitude of great employees. She loved being close to the water, from Burt Lake, Tull Lake, Torch Lake and Machinac Island in Michigan to Sanibel Island in Florida and some great trips to Hawaii. Boating and camping were frequent family activities and she helped instill the appreciation for water in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed numerous trips to Europe including a visit to ancestral Poland where she was able to see the small town of her father's birth. On Sunday, March 11th, 2023, her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, some of whom participated by video, were able to celebrate the 65th wedding anniversary a month early (April 19, 1958). The party included 19 people and a great feast. Over the following week, many of the out of state grandchildren were also able to visit. Joanna loved the time spent with family and said the party made her feel like a princess. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 31, 1:15 PM at St Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs Florida. A Memorial Mass will also be planned in Michigan for the many family and friends who live there, at a date to be determined. No flowers, please, but we thank you for your prayers and kind thoughts.
