Alice P. "Honey" Belton

There was nothing that Alice “Honey” Belton loved more than her family. To describe the love and joy that she felt and the value of those memories is impossible to cover in only a few sentences. How can you do justice to decades of doting marriage? Roger Belton’s tentative call to the bowling alley to ask Honey on a date would grow into a loving family with four children–Gary, Sheree, Lori, and Chris– a pile of grandchildren– Amanda, Joanne, Cory, Ashley, Kristen, Nicole, Kylie, and Mackenziee – and great-grandchildren – Soleil, Jaxson, Annabel, and Mia Honey. She is also survived by her brother James Parrillo and his wife Pat, and her sister, Cora (Sis) Krause and her husband Lutz. She doted on her family until the very end, surrounded by three generations in her final days. Honey leaves behind a wealth of fond memories, from family vacations to upstate New York to boisterous picnics with friends and family in Mendham, New Jersey. Honey never missed a chance to have fun with her children, who remember more than one occasion where she pulled them from school for an outing to the Jersey Shore. For decades, Honey and Roger Belton were a staple in the Mendham community. She never arrived to an event empty-handed, and everyone remembered her recipes such as her famous “Pop Pop Corn”. The Belton house was the site of many gatherings; Honey measured her success in life by the friendships she treasured. Both friends and family would invite themselves over to have heaping helpings of spaghetti and meatballs. For many of her children’s friends, Honey was a second “Mom”. Those that knew her can attest to the lasting impact she made on the communities she leaves behind. Honey was predeceased by her loving husband of over 60 years. The pair were rarely far apart, working together to build their painting and decorating business. Neither was afraid of hard work and knew that effort was necessary to build something that lasts. Their love and support for each other got them through the toughest times, and neither wavered in their adoration of the other. This love remains their legacy and is held in the hearts of all who knew them. We can only hope to form relationships as dedicated and loving as the two shared.
