Bradley Dean Kirk

It is with a heavy heart we announce the unexpected passing of our father, Bradley Dean Kirk, on October 6, 2022. Born in Indianapolis, IN on May 6, 1964 to Thomas Kirk and Wilba Smith, he spent the majority of his childhood in Southwest Florida. After high school, Brad attended the Culinary Institute of America in NYC where he gained the foundation to his creative genius. An incredibly talented chef for four decades, one of Brad’s greatest culinary achievements was opening his very own restaurant - the Wildflower - in Boone, NC. His crab cakes and creme brûlée earned him a write up in Southern Living but in the opinion of his daughters, you haven’t lived until you had a glass of “Dad’s turbo (sweet) tea”. Although he rarely ever took a day off, he often spent them tinkering with his BMWs, playing with his dogs, and enjoying live music. Those closest to him would tell you that behind Brad’s kind, blue eyes was a loving, highly intelligent, loyal protector with a great sense of humor. Brad was proud to be a Liberal and a lifelong learner but more than anything, he was most proud of his daughters. A talented craftsman, Brad resided for many years in the mountain home he built by hand in North Carolina before his love for the ocean brought him back home to Bonita Springs, FL in 2008, where he resided until his sudden passing. Brad is survived by his 2 daughters Kara (Creed) Williams and Jocelyn Kirk (Eric Curry), along with 4 grandchildren, his girlfriend Kristin Cietek, his mother Wilba Wallace, his brother, Kevin Kirk and nephew, Dresden Kirk. His death is preceded by his father Thomas Kirk, stepmother Pamela Kirk, and nephew Ian Kirk. A Celebration of Life is being planned for November 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at La Fontana Banquet Room at The Promenade, 26795 South Bay Drive, Suite 170, Bonita Springs, FL 34134.
