Charles M. Anderson

Charles (Andy) M. Anderson 89, of Naples, FL died Friday, October 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1928 in Ft. Pierce, FL, the only child of the late Charles M. and LaReine E. (née Johnson) Anderson, Sr. He had been a resident of Naples since 1975 coming from Bridgewater, NJ. He also spent his summer months at Hound Ears in Banner Elk, NC. for many years. Charles was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. It was also there that he met and married the love of his life, the late Phyllis C. Anderson who died January 14, 2017. He retired from Johnson & Johnson in 1992 after 25 years in their Mergers and Acquisitions Department. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel the world. He was a former member of The Old Collier Golf Club, Imperial Golf Club and Audubon Country Club. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Bonita Springs. He is survived by his loving daughters, Denise Remes and her husband, Richard of Hillsborough, NC, Deborah L. Anderson of Bonita Springs, FL, Shelley D. Anderson of Bonita Springs, FL and Laura A. Opteyndt and her husband, Jim of Bonita Springs, FL; one son, Charles M. Anderson of New Hope, PA; 12 grandchildren, Rachel Remes, Alex Remes, Laura Hamilton, Matt Anderson, Sarah Thompson, Katelin Martini, Hunter Thompson, Amy Opteyndt, John-Paul Opteyndt, Ariel Anderson, Cole Anderson and Lexi Anderson and 4 great grandchildren, Jake Thompson, Clark Hamilton, Vivian Martini and Wyatt Hamilton. His children and grandchildren will forever miss his wise council, his kindness, his generosity and his intelligence. He was our Google before there was Google. We felt like he knew everything. Mostly we will miss his unconditional love. The family would like to thank all the caregivers from Able Healthcare Services for the loving and devoted care they provided to him these last few years. They helped us provide a quality of life that he would not have had otherwise and we are eternally grateful. A Celebration of his Life will be held Sunday, November 5th at 1:30 PM at Hope Lutheran Church, 25999 Old 41 Rd., Bonita Springs, FL 34135 with Rev. Richard Browning, Senior Pastor officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to the Hope Lutheran Church Foundation in Bonita Springs, FL Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
