Cindy E. Hyra-Tross

Cynthia E. Hyra-Tross of Bonita Springs FL passed away early Sunday morning July 14, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 21, 1959 in Newark, NJ to the late Harry and Helen (Bossany) Hyra. Cynthia had been a resident of Bonita Springs for 14 years, previously residing in Pine Beach, NJ. Cindy’s main focus in life was making other people smile. Not only would she make banana bread for all of her friends and neighbours from her beloved banana palm tree every harvest, but she would also make dinners for friends and acquaintances alike who were going through a difficult time. She was always giving to others and never expected anything in return. Cindy pursued her passion of travel and turned it into a career when she decided to become a Travel Agent. Even when she retired to focus on raising her family, she would still assist family and friends with their travel agendas. Cindy followed her heart and traveled the world, with a passport filled with stamps most people only dream of. In more recent years, her favorite destination was only 4 miles away from her house at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa where her daughters work, following her footsteps in the travel industry. Cindy was a pure soul who loved all living creatures. She would never hurt an insect, and on multiple occasions assisted her daughters with bringing injured birds, bats, and a bunny to a local sanctuary to make sure these animals were able to get well and be released back into their natural habitats. The Tross family had a dog, Beamer, who lived 15 wonderful years and was Cindy’s greatest companion. Years later, Cindy and Gregg rescued an abused dog, Von, who has transformed to be such a loving part of the family. She also has 5 grand-dogs, Disco, Zombie, Blue Cheese, Brynn, and Draco, as well as a grand-cat named Kitty. She loved them all dearly, even though they drove her crazy from time to time. Cindy is survived by her loving husband Gregg Tross and their three wonderful children, Chrissy (Skyler) Longwell, Caroline Tross, and Courtney (Richard) McCaw. Cindy is also survived by her three sisters Karen (Douglas) Shearer, Laura (Larry) Perlberg and Marcy (Robert) Van Zile.
