D. Crae Clements

On the morning of January 2, 2023, Dorin Crae Clements, 75, of Estero, Florida, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away at his home. Crae was born April 24, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, the first son of Gene Warren Clements and Genevieve “Gene” Brown Clements. He actively served in the US Air Force from July 1967 to July 1971, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He worked in management at Sodexho/Marriott Corporation in Houston, Texas, Alexandria, Louisiana, Morgantown, West Virginia, Monroe, Louisiana, Greenville, North Carolina, and Bowling Green, Kentucky, prior to retiring in Florida in 2004. Crae was good at most everything he attempted. He established relationships with many part-time Florida residents and watched over their properties while they were away. His love of photography bloomed and he photographed artists, models, community groups, and real estate. He was a licensed drone pilot. He loved boating, guns, games, movies, grilling and most recently pickleball. However, his highest love was for his family and friends and dogs. Crae lived by a code of ethics. He could be tough but had a generous heart and a voice that could melt the snow if there was any in Florida. Survived by his loving wife Y’Vonne Hoefer Murray of 47 years, his son Cameron Murray of Ft. Myers, Florida, and grandson Ashton Murray of Fishers, Indiana. Cameron’s fiancé Mia Aufford & her son Logan Cox of Ft. Myers, Florida, his longtime faithful friends, Lyndel Struck of Estero, Florida, Sally Baker of Houston, Texas, and Bill Prather of Edwards, Colorado. His two brothers, Britt Clements and wife Gail of Columbia, Missouri, and Conn Clements and wife Amy of Liberty, Missouri, one sister-in-law Dee Miller of Edmond, Oklahoma, and nieces Pam Heinen of Edmond, Oklahoma, Deb Ross of Spokane, Washington, Darah Oxford of Columbia, Missouri, and Debbie Carter of St. Louis, Missouri. Crae was preceded in death by his parents, his wife’s parents, and brother-in-law Joseph Miller. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs, Florida. Casual dress please.
