Darrell D. Mielke

Darrell D. Mielke, 87, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025. Formerly of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Darrell moved to Naples, Florida, in 1978 before relocating to Bonita Springs. Born on January 3, 1938, in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, Darrell was the son of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Kirchmeier) Mielke. He spent his career in the banking and insurance industries. He began at First National Bank of Stevens Point as a loan officer. After years of shoveling snow Darrell moved his family South to Dallas/Ft Worth where he began his career with Sentry Insurance. After a short time and an icy Texas Christmas eve, Darrell moved his family South again to Naples, Fl. It was here that Darrell joined Lutheran Brotherhood, now known as Thrivent Financial, where he dedicated 22 years helping others achieve their financial goals before retiring. Darrell was a passionate golfer and an avid lover of the outdoors, with his true joy found in his cabin in Sylva, North Carolina. His dedication to service extended beyond his professional life. He was an active and beloved member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served 2 terms as president of the congregation, an elder, usher and many plays with the drama club. He also contributed to his community as a member of the Lion’s Club. Darrell's family was his pride and joy, and he will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 64 years, Elaine Grace (Carlson) Mielke; his loving children, Karen (Carlo) Barcarolo of Velo d'Astico, Italy, Steven (Monique) Mielke of Naples, Florida, and Renee (Karl) Faust of Naples, Florida; and his cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Alyssa, Aaron, and Luke. Darrell is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Allen Mielke and Marilyn Groessel. A life well-lived, Darrell leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to his faith, family, and community. He will be remembered for his unwavering support and his warm, generous spirit. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, April 11th at Faith Lutheran Church, 4150 Goodlette-Frank Rd., Naples, FL 34103. In the true spirit of Celebration of Life, the family requests you wear Spring colors instead of formal attire. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Darrell’s memory to: Lambs of Faith Preschool c/o Faith Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. He will be forever missed. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, Family Owned Since 1978.
