Ernest John Tsouros

Ernest J. Tsouros, 92, died peacefully on September 14, 2024, in Estero, FL, with his wife, Kathy, by his side. Ernie was born in Worcester, MA, on August 2, 1932, the son of John and Aphrodite (Litos) Tsouros. He spent his summers at Worcester YMCA Camp Morgan on Millen Lake in Washington, New Hampshire. Following graduating from Classical High School, Ernie attended Boston University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1955. After graduation, Ernie joined the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. He served as a captain in the N.H. Air National Guard. On September 1, 1957, Ernie married Katherine Filides from Concord, NH. They settled in Concord, NH, shortly thereafter. Ernie's 40-year career with United Life, later known as Chubb Life America, began in 1958. He worked at Chubb Securities and in the marketing department. Ernie had the enviable position of the company meeting planner. He traveled worldwide, searching for the best locations for the company’s top producer incentive meetings. He had a reputation as one of the top and most creative meeting planners in his industry and was respected for his high level of integrity. Ernie loved climbing the New Hampshire mountains. He was an avid tennis player, playing at the Bow Brook Club and Racquet Club of Concord and at the York Golf and Tennis Club in Maine. Ernie enjoyed playing golf into his 90s in York, where he and his family summered for 45 years. As a dedicated movie buff, while wintering in Estero, Florida, he regularly attended the film lecture series at Artis Naples. Ernie was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He served on the boards for Child and Family Services, Bow Brook Club, Walker Lecture Series, Concord VNA, and for 30 years with the YMCA Camp Belknap summer camp for boys. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kathy; his daughter, Anne Skakun (William) of Anderson, SC; his son, Michael Tsouros of Concord, NH; and four grandchildren, Zoe and Liam Skakun and Anna and Tommy Tsouros. He is also survived by sisters Helen Bogas of Troy, MI, and Virginia Taylor of Ashland, MA, and eight nieces. He was predeceased in death by his son, Thomas Filides Tsouros, and his brother Peter Tsouros. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
