Frank R. Valva

Frank R. Valva, 94, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 4, 2026. Born on November 21, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, Frank was the beloved son of the late Francis V. and Lucille (née Rebuth) Valva. He later made Bonita Springs his home for the past 22 years after relocating from Bayshore, NY. Frank was a proud graduate of St. John’s University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Following his education, he honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. In 1956, Frank began what would become a remarkable 46-year career with Cancos Tile and Stone Company. Through dedication, leadership, and hard work, he successfully operated the company until his retirement in 2002. A devoted man of faith, Frank was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs. He was also an active member of the Bonita Bay Club, where he especially enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with friends. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Patricia A. Valva of Bonita Springs, FL; children, Joanne P. Purchla (the late John Purchla), Robert F. Valva (Ellen), Susan K. McAuliffe (the late Billy McAuliffe), Mark W. Valva (Jean), Kathryn M. Valva, Bernadette A. White (Adam), Michael P. O’Neill (Kara), and Kevin T. O’Neill, all of Long Island, NY. He also leaves behind 14 cherished grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings, Vincent, Ralph, and Helene. A Memorial Mass celebrating Frank’s life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28300 Beaumont Rd., Bonita Springs, FL. Military honors will follow at the conclusion of the Mass.
