Gregory Theodore Drimones

Gregory Theodore Drimones, 64, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Formerly of Oak Ridge, NJ, he had been a Ft. Myers resident since 1973. He was born January 28, 1953 in Teaneck, NJ, the son of Theodore James and Ann (née Banziger) Drimones. Gregory started out in 1973, when he came to Fort Myers by getting a roofing job, only to find out that wasn't the job for him. With an associates degree in Marine Biology, he then went to Nassau Pools, in Naples, FL.There he found his niche. He went from setting tile to V.P. of Construction. He was at Nassau for 41 years, He made so many friends, Greg(Lissi) Beall, Don (Nancy) Rhodarmer, whom he just got to see again.Tommy(Maria) Threlkeld, Polk & Joe Threlkeld, Backhoe Bob, Christie, Roger Knight, Linda, Karie, so many others! He loved them all like his second family! Gregory knew more about building pools than most. He often said that he loved his job because every day was different. In his spare time he and his friend Joe Linzalone, joined Estero Fire Dept. With the help of Cliff Linzalone, Brent Althouse, Herman Gunn, the Ott brothers and many others, they volunteered their services to create a successful community fire house. He met and married the love of his life in 1982 at Bonita Beach, with reception in the bays of that very same Fire Dept. He went on to raise up two amazing sons, Michael and Robert, with the birth of a beautiful daughter Jennifer. His family was now complete. He was an amazing husband, a wonderful father, and grandfather! He will be missed and his absence will be felt for the rest of our lives! Mr. Drimones is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Constance D. (née Roman) Drimones; his beloved children, Michael Shannon (Laura) Drimones of Fort Myers, FL. Now living in Santa RosaC.A., Robert Brian (Melany) Drimones of Ft. Myers, FL and Jennifer Elizabeth (Brandon) Peters of Ft. Myers, FL; his sister, Diane (Craig) Johnson of Ridgefield, CT; and four cherished grandchildren, Brock Brian, Alexander Elijah, Isaiah Alexis and Jaxon Orion. Niece, Whitney Usas Cook, two nephews, Jeffrey Usas and Brett Usas. Services will be held at Estero Fire Department #43 located at, 21500 Three Oaks Pkwy, Estero, Fl. 33928, on Sunday, January the 28th between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the GoFundMe account, under Gregory's name. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
