THOMAS, Howard G., Jr., aged 82, beloved husband of Barbara (nee Bernzott) for 39 years. Loving and proud father of Brian (Dawna) Thomas, Lisa (Scott) Reiter, Christina Thomas, and Laura (Porth) Monts. Devoted grandfather of Makenzie (Matt) Hoiney, Mitchell (Abbie) Thomas, Jonathan Reiter (Natália Abdalla), Joseph Reiter, and Janie Reiter. Beloved great grandfather of Braelyn, Larkin, Jaxson, Braxton, and Josslyn. Dear brother of Robert (Marilyn) Thomas and the late Donald (Barbara) Thomas and brother-in-law of the late Janet Bernzott, Joann (the late Ed) Hubert, Kathy (Greg) Kathman, and William (Andrea) Bernzott. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was born on August 27, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Howard and Elsie (nee Sack) Thomas. Howard was a proud graduate of St. Xavier High School and graduated from Xavier University with a degree in Accounting and subsequently his MBA prior to becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Howard had a successful career as President and CEO of Hubert Company, serving the company for 25 dedicated years, during which time the company experienced tremendous growth. In addition, he contributed 16 years of service to The Merchants Bank Board of Directors, with his last nine years as Chairman of the Board. Howard was a man of integrity, vision and determination, and will be remembered by those who knew him professionally for his leadership, business acumen, mentorship and camaraderie. Known for his beaming smile, infectious and hearty laugh, quick wit, and charismatic personality, Howard left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, keeping current on global and financial events, and celebrating life with cherished friends and family. Howard loved his family most of all, and his spirit, kindness, wisdom, and dedication will live on in all of them. Visitation at Our Lady of Visitation Church, 3172 South Road, Cincinnati, OH 45248, SATURDAY, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 720 East Pete Rose Way Suite #330, Cincinnati, OH 45202 or St. Xavier High School at 600 W. North Bend RD., Cincinnati, OH 45224-1499. Local arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, Family Owned Since 1978.
