Jeffrey A Gatt

Jeffrey “Jeff” Gatt of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully at home on the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, March 19, 2024. He was last surrounded by the love of his wife, four daughters, two sons-in-law, and grandson. Jeff was 64 years young. Born to Anthony Gatt and Frances Gatt in Detroit, Michigan on September 22, 1959, Jeff was the youngest of their three children. It was there he was raised, developed lifelong friendships, married, and began a family of his own. After working in automotive sales and driving a big rig, he relocated with his family to Naples in 1991 where he founded Royal Steamer, Inc., a family-owned and operated service business that remains in operation today. As a son, brother, friend, husband, dad, uncle, godfather, and Nannu, Jeff was larger than life to so many. He is, and forever will be, remembered endearingly for so many things. A wisecracker that loved to have fun and loved to be funny. He loved hockey, football, classic muscle cars, motorcycle trips, cooking big family dinners, mowing his lawn, and most of all, he loved his wife, his girls, his friends and his family. Most prominently, Jeff’s legacy is the love, wisdom, selflessness, and core values he gave to us, and the devotion of his life to others. An endless teacher, provider, protector, and giver, he was a strong force of nature in our world. He exemplified hard work. He taught us strength, determination, independence, opportunity, and tenacity. He gave the shirt off his back without hesitation, and he could not rest until he knew we were all taken care of. Through his last day, when he saw we were in need, he was going to build it, do it, buy it, or find a way to make it happen, regardless of monetary or personal cost. When illness and suffering stole so much from him, he was the ultimate representation of, “Suck it up, you’re a Gatt!” His resilience, spirit, and humor could not be broken. Instead, he taught us courage, healing, and hope, faith, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Befitting his last worldly day, Jeff embodied Saint Joseph for us. An imperfect man; a strong and powerful figure, chosen as guardian of the family. One in which his family could lean and whose love for them would never falter. He was our glue, our leader, the staple of our home, and he was sure to create for us memories that will last our lifetime. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Anthony Gatt and Frances Gatt; his step-sister Deborah Keith; brother-in-law John Kalmanek; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Monica Gatt; siblings Rick (Amelia) Gatt and Maureen (Lennie) Victor; daughters Melanie (Nick) McFadden, Stephanie Gatt, Sarah (Marlon) Rivera, and Samantha Gatt; surrogate sons Eduardo Valverde and Zachary Kalmanek; godson Bryan (Tom) Victor; goddaughters, Gabrielle Sauer and Sara Masterson; nephews Scott (Samantha) Victor, Thomas (Valerie) Gatt, Michael Bosquez, and Kevin Bosquez; niece Lauren Gatt; grandson Joshua McFadden; step-mother Maureen Gatt; and so many cherished step-siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and friends. Irreplaceable in our hearts, he will be loved and appreciated forever by all those he left behind. Jeff, Dad, Nannu — We will long for the day we see your smile, hear your jokes, and hold your hand again. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, closing with the Rosary from 6:30pm to 7:00pm, at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 S Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, Florida. Jeff's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00AM at Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 5225 Golden Gate Pkwy, Naples, Florida. Entombment will follow at Naples Memorial Gardens , 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida at 1:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2024 followed by a gathering and reception served at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in the Rome Room at 625 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida.
