John F. "Jack" Magyar

John “Jack” Magyar, 78, died on January 1, 2025, in his home in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, the youngest of six, and went to college at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, where he met and fell in love with his first wife, Sandra. They moved to Indianapolis where he began a 42-year career with Hallmark Cards during which he won many company awards and was valued for his services as the National Account Manager. There, they received their two children, Carina and Katie. The family relocated to Centennial, Colorado, in 1981, where he raised his family in a home he owned for 30 years. He was an active parishioner at St. Thomas More and made lasting connections with many of his Willow Creek neighbors. After Sandra passed in 2011, he was blessed with meeting the second love of his life, Janie. They married and lived in Colorado for nine years before relocating to Florida where they built their forever home. He enjoyed tennis, travel, fine food, and being around his grandchildren. He made excellent barbecue ribs and sauerkraut soup. He loved watching sports, especially football and hockey, and in Florida, he fell in love with and excelled at pickleball. His family and friends knew him as a devoted, diligent, and dedicated man who could always be relied upon. He was a man of faith and loyalty. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Janie Magyar (76) and three children, Carina Magyar (46), Katie Magyar (43), and Ryan Whitehead (39); four grandchildren: Jack (15), Charlotte (13), Josephine (11), and Gabriel (4); three sisters, Clare Fanta (93), Marge Kromer (90), and Deloras McGaffey (83); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Magyar; wife, Sandra Magyar; and sisters Rose O’Donnell and Barbara Ann Magyar. Services will be held at St. Leo Catholic Church, 28290 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs, FL, on February 21, 2025, at 12PM.
