Joseph Marc Unsinn

Joseph M. Unsinn 43, of Naples and owner of South Street City Oven and Grill died unexpectedly Monday, November 3, 2014 at his residence. Joe had been a resident of Naples since 1979 coming from Folsom, Ridley Township, PA. He was born February 4, 1971 in Darby, PA the beloved son of the late Charles J. Unsinn and Margaret A. “Peggy” (née Morris) (Unsinn) Martin, who survives. Joe attended St. John Neumann High School and graduated from Naples High School in 1989. He was a business major at the University of Florida putting himself thru college waiting tables and bartending. In 2006, after working for others, he decided to entertain his entrepreneurial skills and opened South Street City Oven and Grill in Naples, a huge success! He was a generous man donating his time and talents to many of the Collier County Schools, the Montessori School on Immokalee Rd. and the Sports Club of Naples. His true passions were his children, family, friends and football teams, the Florida Gators and the Philadelphia Eagles and of course South Street. On his 40th birthday, Joe an avid fitness enthusiast climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa and set his childrens mementoes at the summit. Recently, he enjoyed boating and rafting with his children. He is survived by his two adoring children, Riley Danielle Unsinn and Patrick John Unsinn, his mother and stepfather, Margaret A. “Peggy” Martin and John M. “Jack” Martin of Naples, FL; sister, Kathleen M. Meneley and her husband, Douglas of Naples, FL; stepsister, Connie Lee Falato of Philadelphia, PA and 5 nieces and nephews, Jesse, Montana and Cory Meneley of Naples, FL and Nicole and Joey Falato of Philadelphia, PA. He is also survived by the light of his life, Ashley D. Andrews of Naples, FL and his former wife and mother of his children, Diana M. Pleeter. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles J. Unsinn on November 27, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 625 111th Ave. No., Naples, FL Burial will follow in the memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be sent to the Sports Club of Naples for the After School program at Pelican Marsh Elementary School 3275 Pine Ridge Rd., Naples, FL 34109 or to the Heil Luthringer Foundation 6582 Trail Blvd., Naples, FL 34108. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
