Linda L. Rounding

Linda L. Rounding, 75 years old, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on December 12, 1948 in Elmwood Park, Illinois to the late Edward and Shirley Kallas. On April 11, 1981, Linda married the love of her life, Gary, and for the past 43 years anyone who was blessed to be a part of their lives knows their love knew no boundaries. Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She loved to laugh, and her positivity was infectious. The beating heart of her family, she was unfaltering in love and kindness. Faith and family were the two cornerstones of her life. She dedicated many years of her life to her children providing unwavering support and love through their growing years. At the age of 50, Linda graduated from the University of Alabama and her love for Westie dogs, especially her own, was known to all. She had a passion for producing community theatre and was admired for her advocacy and counseling of battered women and children. A resident and active member of Shadow Wood Country Club for the last 22 years, Linda found much joy spending time on the golf course and dining with family and friends. Even facing tremendous adversity during the last seven years after her dementia diagnosis, she persevered - staying strong in her faith, loving those around her, and doing her best to enjoy life to its fullest. This life well lived and well-loved will always be remembered by her loving and dedicated husband Gary; children JR Rounding and his fiancé Kathryn Kuempel of Cary, Illinois, Nikki Stritzel and her fiancé Bobby Hodge of Columbia, MO, and John Rounding and his wife Jena of Naples, Florida; grandchildren Jack and Audrey Stritzel and JJ and Juliana Rounding; brother Ken Kallas (Linda); sister Simone Claps (Vito), as well as, many beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends. Even at the end she found a way to smile, laugh, dance and sing. Linda will always be remembered by her infectious personality. She will forever be one of the brightest stars in our lives. A memorial service led by Father Stanley Deresienski will be held at Shadow Wood Country Club at 11:30am on Saturday, March 9, 2024 followed by a celebration of life luncheon.
