Michael V. Gallo, 41, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on May 1, 2026, following a courageous 10-year battle with multiple myeloma. Born on May 6, 1984, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Michael grew up with a strong work ethic and a passion for life that carried through everything he did. He graduated from Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey, earning his bachelor’s degree in business management. He began his professional career with Discovery Financial Management, where he worked for two years. Following the financial downturn, Michael chose to follow a different path—one that better reflected his creative spirit. He attended culinary school in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and went on to become a talented chef. Michael worked in various restaurants at the Jersey Shore and Rehoboth Beach, DE before moving to Key West, Florida. There, he combined his love of cooking and the ocean, serving as both chef and first mate aboard a friend’s fishing boat. He spent a decade living and working on the water, a lifestyle that perfectly matched his adventurous nature and deep love for fishing. In 2019, as his illness progressed, Michael moved to Bonita Springs, Florida, to be closer to his family. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained devoted to the things he loved most—cooking, fishing, and spending time with those closest to him. Whether casting a line in the Atlantic, a quiet lake, or a neighborhood pond, or crafting his own fishing lures, Michael found joy and peace in the simple moments. He is survived by his loving mother, Gina Gallo, and her companion, Mike Sheehan, of Bonita Springs, Florida; his uncle, Vincent Gallo and his aunt, Donna, of Naples, Florida; and his two cousins, Nicole Inkrote and her husband, Nate, of Wall Township, New Jersey, and Danielle Hutchinson and her husband, Peter, of Holmdel, New Jersey. He is also survived by his best friends, Joseph Mazzone of Manasquan, New Jersey, and Steven Haines of Brick, New Jersey. Michael was preceded in death by his adoring grandparents, Vincent and Constance Gallo; his loving uncle, Gary Gallo; and his beloved rescue pit bull, “Frank the Tank,” affectionately known as Frankie. Michael will be remembered for his resilience, his passion for life, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
