Nancy Dyer Bacon

Nancy Dyer Bacon, 93, of Bonita Springs, Florida, and formerly of Amherst, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at Avow Hospice House in Naples, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on July 6, 1932, in New Britain, Connecticut, to Raymond and Elizabeth "Bess" Dyer. She was raised in Berlin, Connecticut, on the family farm in a historic home dating back to 1779. She graduated from Berlin High School and later attended the University of Connecticut. Nancy shared a remarkable life with her husband and high school sweetheart, Robert L. Bacon, with whom she enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Together they built a loving family and created countless memories centered around family, friendship, and community. While Nancy devoted much of her life to raising her family and, she also enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent in New Hampshire. Nancy embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed many activities throughout the years, including travel, skiing, golfing, boating, and painting. A gifted artist, she created numerous oil paintings that remain treasured by family and friends. Later in life, encouraged by her daughter, Holly, Nancy took up pickleball and continued playing until the age of 85. One of Nancy's greatest joys was spending summers at the family home on Martha's Vineyard. She cherished the beach, the ocean air, and the opportunity to gather generations of family under one roof. Her home was the heart of countless family traditions, and she delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends throughout the summer months. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Bacon; her parents, Raymond and Elizabeth (Bess) Dyer; her brothers, Alan Dyer of Berlin, Connecticut, and Dr. Richard R. Dyer of Fort Myers, Florida, and Warwick, Rhode Island; and her daughter-in-law, Jeryl K. Bacon of Stratham, New Hampshire. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Brewster of Memphis Tennessee, a son and his companion, R. Scott Bacon and Peggy Erdman of Bonita Springs, Florida; her daughters, Holly Bacon of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Heidi Violette and her husband, Michael, of Amherst, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Matthew Bacon and his wife, Stefanie, of Burke, Virginia; Erin Cizek and her husband, James, of Simsbury, Connecticut; Micaela McQuaide and her husband, David, of Amherst, New Hampshire; and Tyler Violette and his wife, Megan, of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by eight beloved great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, caregivers, and staff of Avow Hospice House in Naples for the exceptional compassion, kindness, and care they provided during Nancy's final days.
