Patricia Jane Ericksen

ESTERO, FL – Patricia Norwood Trowbridge Ericksen, 80, of Estero, Florida passed away on January 16, 2018 in Fort Myers, Florida. “Patty Jane” was born on June 24, 1937 to Doris and Vince Norwood and along with her brother Jim Norwood, were raised in the small oil town of Petrolia, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of an oil executive and a track star in high school. As a young woman, she married her high school sweetheart, Keith Trowbridge, and raised two successful sons, Mike and David, as their homesteads moved from Toronto, Ontario, Bowling Green, Ohio, Coral Gables, Florida and Sanibel Island, Florida. She raised their children while Keith perused a career in Timesharing under the company name of Captran Resorts. Keith and Patty were happily married for 22 years. Still beautiful through middle-age, Patty met the second love of her life, and married Jerome Ericksen who were happily married for 37 years living in Estero, Florida. Patty was active in her social life and played in a Bridge Club, Bocceball Club and holds the all-time record in her local Wi Bowling League with a perfect score of 300. Not once but several times! Jerry is considered by many to be the mayor of The Villages at Country Creek. Her two sons gave her 5 beautiful grandchildren – Bradley, Amber, Cortney, Julia and Jake Trowbridge. She loved her grandchildren very much and “face-timed” them often. She enjoyed seeing their photos and hearing about their activities and adventures, always praising them on their accomplishments. She also knitted them many warm garments over the years. Patty Jane is best remembered as a beautiful, kind, loyal and loving person. She loved her family above all else believing in traditional family values. She was classy yet private, who would laugh at anyone’s joke – funny or not. She loved her cats, was an avid fisherman, a wonderful cook and loved to garden. She touched everyone she met. She had many friends and will be sorely missed. Visitation is at 10:00 am at the Estero United Methodist Church, Saturday January 20, 2018 followed by an 11:00 am memorial service, to be conducted by Pastor Tim Carson. In lieu of flowers, Patty would have wanted donations made to your local SPCA, or to the American Cancer Society.
