Philip W. Wojcik

Philip W. Wojcik, 83, of Estero, Florida, passed away on April 19, 2026, at Gulf Coast Medical Center following a cardiac event. Born on February 26, 1943, in Hamtramck, Michigan, Philip was the son of the late Walter and Elinor (née Zbik) Wojcik. He spent many years in Aurora, Ohio, before becoming a winter resident of Estero in 2011. In 2023, he made Estero his permanent home. Philip was a proud graduate of Eastern Michigan University and went on to earn his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. He dedicated much of his professional life to the healthcare field, beginning his career as a hospital administrator with Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and later at Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan. In 2000, Phil and Coleen purchased Medical Integrated Services, a biomedical engineering company, which they successfully owned and operated for 20 years. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Philip was deeply committed to his community. While living in Ohio, he volunteered annually with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad as a trainman, a role he cherished—especially during the holiday season while working on the Polar Express. He was also an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course with family and friends, and his other main hobby was cooking. Phil was a “foodie” long before the term ever existed. His love of cuisine was both an exploration of other cultures and a knack for entertaining. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Coleen M. Conlon-Wojcik of Estero, Florida; his two sons, Philip J. Wojcik and his wife, Julie, of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania and Michael A. Wojcik and his husband, Andrew Fowler, of Chicago, Illinois, and his three beloved grandchildren, Anna, Henry, and Ethan. He is also survived by his two brothers, Russell Wojcik (Janis) of Fairview, Oregon, and Daniel Wojcik (Janet), also of Fairview, Oregon; his sister, Sally Heidelbach (Edward) of Farmington Hills, Michigan; along with many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community. A reception for family and friends will follow at Copperleaf Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations in Philip’s memory be made to the charity of one’s choice.
