Ray "Nick" Hubach

Nick was born on March 7th, 1940 to Raymond and Florence Hubach in Avon Lake, Ohio. After graduating from Avon Lake High School in 1957, Nick joined the Pipefitters Local 120 as an apprentice pipefitter. On August 7, 1963, Nick answered the call to serve his country when he was drafted into the Army, where he was honorably discharged on July 31, 1969. Nick was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and uncle who liked to relax by spending time with his family playing games, whether it was outside playing volleyball, kickball or football or inside, playing Pinochle or Scrabble. He also enjoyed the Casino, bowling, golf, and crossword puzzles and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. Nick was a quiet man, but anyone who knew him knew that his family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was always supportive and ready to provide anything he could to those he loved and he will be missed. Nick was predeceased by his wife, Donna, his step daughter Karen Borato (nee Bandagski), his granddaughter Isabel, his brother George and his brother Donald. He is survived by daughter, Rae and her husband Howard Goforth; son, Remi and his wife Nicole; son, Mike and his wife Kim; step daughter, Kathy (nee Bandagski) and her husband Rich Frasolak; step son, Tommy Bandagski and his wife Maryanne; step son, Joey Toth and his wife Lena; step daughter, Joanne (nee Toth) and her husband Jim O’Connor; grandchildren, Lynn Bristow and his wife Melissa, Donna (nee Borato) and her husband Rich St. Bernard, Shawn Bristow and his wife Melissa, Jason Hones and his husband Bennie, Thomas Bandagski, Beth (nee Hones) and her husband Kendall, Jack Hones and his wife Jen; natural grandchildren, Rachel Goforth, Natalie Goforth, Sydney Stossel, Tanner Hubach, Maggie Hubach; great-grandchildren, Alex St. Bernard, Nate St. Bernard, Claire St. Bernard, Caden Bristow, Max Richer, Leo Richer, June Richer, Ben Richer, Margot Hones, Maysie Bristow, Peter Hones; brother, Phil; sisters, Mary and Loretta; and many nieces and nephews. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle N., Fort Myers, FL 33908. There will be no funeral service at this time, but a celebration of life will be planned for a future date. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
