Robert E. "Bob" Robins

Robert “Bob” Edward Robins age 83 passed away peacefully on July 23, 2016 due to complications from Alzheimer's. His wife Marj and three daughters were by his side. His son visited with him prior to embarking on a cruise with Bob's brother Jim and family. Bob was born in Detroit Michigan on October 15, 1932 to James and Luella Schroen Robins. He grew up in the Detroit area and attended Angell Elementary, Northwestern High School and then went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State. On December 20, 1952 he married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage and 4 children. Bob and Marj enjoyed traveling together. Their travels took them to every continent in the world except for Antarctica. He also loved spending time with family and friends. Bob worked with his brothers at Robins Printing Company, a business that their father founded. The family run business grew to become one of the most prominent printing companies in the Detroit area for over 50 years. Bob's interests and hobbies included running, boating, skiing and cruising. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs and also was a member of St. Timothy Presbyterian Church in Livonia, MI where he was an Elder and Youth Leader for many years. Bob and Marj volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels in Naples and Bonita Springs for 15 years. They always had a smile and conversation with their recipients to brighten up their days. His passion for running led him to a goal of running 75 marathons between the ages of 50 and 75. This passion he has passed on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren inspiring and motivating them to achieve and strive for goals not only in running but in their lives as well. He will long be remembered for all the many accomplishments in his life and most of all his love and deep devotion to his wife and family. Surviving is his wife Marjorie Lois Mumford Robins; 4 children, Kenneth Edward Robins, Linda Sue (Earl) Mathis, Julie Ann (John) Piper, Beth Luann (Dave) Olko. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; Ken Robins, Becky Bates, Laura Whitney, Breanna Pupa, Michael Twine, Natasha Piper, Amanda Piper, Joshua Piper, Liana Olko and David Olko; 10 great grandchildren Zachary Robins, Carly Bates, Casey Robins, Landon Twine, Matthew Bates, Carys Whitney, Regan Pupa, Declan Twine, Lincoln Pupa, Cailin Whitney and Baby Pupa, due in January; 2 brothers, William Charles Robins and James Erwin Robins. A memorial service will be held Thursday July 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at The First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, with the Reverend Doctor Douglas G. Pratt officiating. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's support group of Naples or the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs.
