Samuel Aaron Shook

It is with deep sadness and sorrow in our hearts, that we announce the passing of our Son, Father, Brother, and Friend, Samuel Aaron Shook. He fell asleep in death May 17th, 2025 in his home on Marco Island, Florida. Aaron was a patient and very humorous man. Anyone who knew him closely would say he was slow to anger, and quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He lived for his daughters, Delilah and Zalaya, often calling them his greatest achievement, his World. He had such pride in being their Dad, and their love for him was always evident. He enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors and building up his community wherever he was living or working at the time. Aaron was born December 12, 1977 to Loretta Crites and David Shook in Bluffton, Ohio. He brought such joy as a child as well. His smile was infectious, and his laughter contagious. Aaron was a boating enthusiast, and made a career from this passion, traveling the world working in the yachting industry. Whether working as an Engineer, First Mate, Deck Hand or Supervising a refurbishing or building team in the shipyard, Aaron was a hard worker, and his Co-workers loved having him on every job. Aaron loved the ocean and his many travels. In many ways Aaron was like the Ocean; calm and soothing, while powerful and strong. Aaron loved deeply, and felt the relationship bonds he made throughout the years deep in his heart. Aaron had step-sisters he never called “step” and cousins he called Brothers. Aaron shined a light of joy, and everyone who loved him felt that. He valued his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and that faith was a part of why he valued and respected people and was always willing to offer a helping hand with generous spirit. Aaron is survived by his beautiful daughters, Delilah Barboza Shook and Zalaya Barboza Shook, their mother, Randa Barboza Shook. His mother, Loretta Crites Inman. His brothers Gregory Shook and Nathaniel Shook. His sisters, January Inman, Joelene Coburn, Cheyanna McGregor and their families. His “Pops”, step-father Charles Inman. His grandmother Carol Shook, Uncle Daniel Shook. His Uncles and Aunts, James and Betty Crites, William and Jackie Crites. His Cousins “Brothers” James, Matthew and Brandon Crites. Many other cousins and extended family. Aaron was woven into our lives with Love, Laughter and Forever Memories. He will be greatly missed by all of the lives he touched.
