Sandra Burdette

Sandra Jones Burdette, (Sandy, Caliente Jalapeno) was 51 years old, born on March 1, 1964. She lived in Bonita Springs, Florida. She left us to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 9:03 p.m. due to Pancreatic Cancer. She was well cared for at Joann’s Hospice House. Sandra was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She lived a life of travel from the start of her birth due to her father’s job as a petroleum engineer. She married Larry Burdette and they had a beautiful daughter, Bianca, in Naples, Florida. Sandra and Larry moved to Midland, Texas in 1993, where they lived for the next 20 years. Three years ago Sandra met the love of her life, Dan Odum, whom she spent her final years with along with her many loved ones. Sandra Burdette is survived by her chosen partner, Dan Odum (El Bandito) from Bonita Springs, Florida; her daughter, Bianca Burdette and her partner, Kaitlin Lingard, from Midland, Texas; parents, James William Jones and Rosa Zanier Jones from Torremolinos, Spain, sister Ana O’Bryant and her husband, Milton O’Bryant and their children, Vanessa and Matthew; and her former husband and the father of her pride and joy, Larry Burdette from Midland, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Shikany’s Funeral Home. Celebration of Life reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice or Pancreatic Cancer Research would be appreciated. We would also like to thank the nurses at Joann’s Hospice House, Kitty, Lisa and Anol, as well as many nurses at Lee Memorial Hospital and Florida Cancer Specialists. Thank you to Lisa Benjamin, Amy Carson, Sue Loach, Alex and Anna Herron for putting on such a great benefit. Sandra lived life to the fullest. She made a positive impact in every life she touched. She will be missed by many and loved all who knew her.
