Theodore E. "Ted" Figurelle

Theodore E. “Ted” Figurelle, 88, of Estero, FL died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers. Formerly of Lake Orion, MI he had been an Estero resident since 1986. Ted was born April 25, 1929 in Williamsburg, PA a son of the late Anthony E. and Carmela M. (Spallone) Figurelli. He graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelors of Engineering Degree. Ted’s career was spent working as a draftsman for General Motors, retiring in 1986. Ted was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered as a Leader and Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, camping, archery, as well as golfing, tennis and bowling. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and children. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Light Catholic Community where he was a eucharistic minster, and volunteered with the funeral ministry. Ted was also very active at the Island Club and Corkscrew Woodlands where he has served as President, Board Member and anywhere he was needed. Survivors include his loving children, Cindy (Harold) Davis of Plainville, GA, Michael (Kathryn) Figurelle of Presque Isle, MI, Terry (Karen) Figurelle of Redmond, WA, Lori (Neil) Baxter of Troy, MI, Brenda (David) Hunter of Oxford, MI; grandchildren, Toni (Brian), Robin, Nicholas, Matthew, Adam, McKenna and Cameron, and 1 great granddaughter, Locryn. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife. Joanne I. Figurelle on March 16, 2017; and 6 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. An additional service will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Lake Orion, Michigan on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Burial will be at All Saint Cemetery in Waterford, MI immediately following the Michigan Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Theodore’s name may be made to Our Lady of Light Catholic Community at the address above. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
