Thomas B. Fox

Thomas B. Fox, 89, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away suddenly on May 8, 2016. He was born October 11, 1926 in Hillsdale, MI, the son of Hubert and Mildred (née Nash) Fox. Upon returning to Michigan from his WWII assignment as a Sargent in the US Army, Tom began his career at the JCPenney Company. Tom had a long and successful career of 41 years with JCPenney in various positions of responsibility from stores, to district, regional and corporate. Tom retired as a Vice President in 1988 after spending his last 11 years with the company in Belgium leading Sarma-Penney. Tom had a passion for travel after his retirement, a passion he shared with both Ruth and Michiko. Their travels took them all over the world to some of the most beautiful and exotic locations known. In addition to his travel Tom loved the opera and had a profound devotion to the Episcopal Church. He was the beloved husband of Michiko Fox for 16 years; loving father of Greg Fox and Janet Fox McGrath; devoted grandfather to David Stone, Katie Fox and Tom Fox; and great grandfather to Adelyn Julia Fox and Rier James Fox. He was the adored friend, mentor and colleague to many others. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Ruth Lois Fox; his daughter, Laura Anne Stone; and by his sister, Janet Elaine Gwilt. Memorial services will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Bonita Springs Florida on May 28th at 11:00 am A reception will follow immediately after the service . In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Supportabilities Foundation an organization that helps empower individuals with special needs and at risk youth explore their interests and maximize their unique abilities.
