After a life well lived, Vincenza “Gina” Levantini entered eternal rest on July 1, 2026. She was 99 years old. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33967, followed by interment at 2 p.m. in Sarasota National Cemetery. In life, Gina answered to many names—Vincenza, Gina, Jenny, and Jean—and she was many things. Most treasured, she was a daughter, a sister, a beloved wife, a proud mother, and a deeply loving grandmother and great‑grandmother. The beacon of light for our family, Gina was beautiful inside and out. She embodied unconditional love. With a perpetual smile and a nurturing heart, she was kind without judgment, patient without limits, and a true friend to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Born to Giuseppe Di Pasquale and Rose Alagna in Brooklyn, New York, on February 14, 1927, Gina was one of six children. In Brooklyn she was raised, cared for her siblings, and discovered her lifelong passions for homemaking, dressmaking, art, and style. In her early years, she worked as a dressmaker, creating pieces that were truly one‑of‑a‑kind. Her sewing, cooking, and painting reflected her creativity, devotion, and unmistakable personal touch. With a heart dedicated to fostering and educating, she lived to watch her family grow and thrive. Gina found her earthly home in her husband, Rudy Levantini. The epitome of soulmates, together they raised two beautiful daughters, three grandsons, and many great‑grandchildren. Their journey took them from Brooklyn to Miami, then to Tarpon Springs, and finally to Estero, Florida. Rudy and Gina surrounded their family with love, guidance, support, and selflessness. Their home was a refuge—its door always open, every person welcomed with a hug and a warm meal. Their home was your home. Their table was your table. And everything they had, they shared freely. Gina was the apple of Rudy’s eye. He chose her above all else, wore her name on his chest, danced with her to her favorite Italian music, and adored her with unwavering devotion. She loved him just as deeply. They embodied true love and set the bar for all who knew them. Rudy admired Gina’s bright smile, and it was her smile that lit up the room when she saw you. If you were hers, you not only knew it—you felt it. She was warm‑hearted, without a mean bone in her body. She lived to provide, to nurture, and to make you feel special. From late‑night food spreads to heartfelt conversations, to family sleepovers, to teaching the children to read, she did it all. A talented artist, she loved painting. She enjoyed yoga, positivity books, music, and guitar. She was a natural in the kitchen, known for her biscotti, lasagna, and chicken cordon bleu. She loved to work out and exercised with determination, inspiring all the young girls in her class. Above all, Gina had a profound love for God, often finding solace in sleeping with her rosary and praying when she could not sleep. Through her example, Gina fostered in us lessons of faith, grace, patience, gentleness, optimism, compassion, and inner beauty. But the truest mark she leaves behind is the gift she gave so freely—herself. Her time, her devotion, her wisdom, her hand, and most exceptionally, her heart. Gina leaves this world having accomplished what so many strive for. She loved completely, nurtured endlessly, and made the world a better place simply by being in it. The time we had with her will forever be cherished, and her love will remain the foundation that shapes future generations. We never wanted to let her go, but we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her one true love and is home with the Lord. Mom, Grandma—We will forever love and appreciate all you have given us. You were wise beyond your years, your beauty beyond reproach, and your impact in our lives irreplaceable. We will keep you in our hearts until we meet again… naturally. Gina was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe Di Pasquale and Rose Alagna; her siblings Pauline, James, Vito, and Francis; her great‑granddaughter Jocelyn McFadden; her beloved husband Rudolph Levantini; and many cherished extended family and friends. She is survived by her sister Lucille Sarcona; her daughters Linda (Chuck) Hall and Maureen (Gabe) Benigno; her grandsons Damian (Fabiana) McFadden, Demetrius Levantini, and Nicholas (Melanie) McFadden; her great‑grandchildren Jessica McFadden, Makenzie (Chris) Levantini, Cameron Levantini, Jaden McFadden, and Joshua McFadden; and many beloved extended family and friends.
