Alfred Raymond "Al" DeMartino Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alfred R. “Al” DeMartino, 67 of Naples, FL passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Frances Georgeson Hospice House. Formerly of Pittsburgh, PA he had been a resident of Naples since 1983. Al was born December 10, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA a son of the late Alfred and Thelma (Tompkins) DeMartino. He worked for the past 37 years at D. Garrett Construction, where he was currently a supervisor of the Warranty and Customer Service Department. Al was a world renowned scallop shell enthusiast. He also loved botany and collected rocks and minerals from all over the world. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years, Joyce J. (Barrett) DeMartino; loving children, Jonathan P. DeMartino of Naples, FL, Jamie L. Hilliard of Naples, FL; stepchildren, Melinda (Edward) Garner of Shiloh, OH, Marvin (Laura) Weidemeyer of Fort Myers, FL; brothers, Nicholas (Laura) DeMartino of West Mifflin, PA, James (Kathy) DeMartino of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Zachary (Molly), Eddy, Andrea, Marissa, Kodie; great granddaughter, Lyla; and many nieces and nephews. Al’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail So., Bonita Springs, FL 34134. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al’s name may be made to the Naples Zoo, Attn: Development, 1590 Goodlette Road, Naples, FL 34102 or to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, 1495 Smith Preserve Way, Naples, FL 34102.
