Barbara C. Sentz

February 16, 1935 - June 18, 2020

Barbara Cooper Sentz, born February 16th, 1935, entered into rest on June 18th, 2020 at the age of 85. She passed suddenly in her sleep after surviving breast cancer and battling lung cancer. Barbara is predeceased by her parents Wesley and Dorothy Simpson, husband Warner Sentz, and daughter Debra Sentz. She is survived by her sons Bob and Keith Sentz and granddaughters Jessica and Samantha Sentz. Barbara was born in Hempstead, New York and spent the majority of her life in the New York region, eventually moving down to Florida in 1990. She married and started a family at the age of 20, caring for her children until they were of age. She took the initiative to begin college at the age of 40, obtaining an Associates Degree in Applied Science and her license to practice as a registered nurse. A proud achievement, she practiced as a nurse until her retirement in 2005. Throughout her life she was known to be loyal, hardworking, a tough woman, very beautiful, and some would say “sassy”. Barbara loved playing tennis and will be remembered for her many achievements in the sport, as well as playing golf and bridge with her friends. Most of all, she enjoyed her summers with her family at Trout Lake Club in upstate New York, where her memory will always live on. The Lord replied, “My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you” Arrangements are being handled Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
