Dorothy L. "Dottie" Coughlin

Dorothy L. “Dottie” Coughlin 92, of Fort Myers, FL, and a former resident of Naples died on December 8, 2023, in Ft. Myers. She was born on September 29, 1931, in Lakewood, OH, a daughter of the late John T. and Cecelia A. (Smith) Losh. Dottie moved to Naples in 1988 coming from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and moved to Ft. Myers in 2010. After graduating high school, she became a paralegal, working in a Chicago law office for many years. She was extremely devoted to her mother, Cecelia. In the later part of Dottie’s life, she researched and collaborated on a book named “Beloved” honoring her mother. Dottie fell in love with the game of golf at an early age and played in numerous amateur golf tournaments during her active life. Her love of golf and interest in travel allowed her to compete in tournaments in many foreign countries. She was a former member and resident at the Imperial Golf Club in Naples for over 20 years. Dottie’s golf memberships included the PGA National Members Club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY, Chartwell Golf and Country Club in Severna Park, MD, Metropolitan Golf Association in Elmsford, NY and the Palm Beach County Women’s Golf Association, FL. During her playing years, Dottie recorded 10 hole-in-ones, a remarkable accomplishment. She attended the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Ft. Myers and was a former active member and communicant at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples. At the time of her death, Dottie was a resident at Cypress Cove in Ft. Myers where she was very well known. She will be missed by all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Lesko who died on February 11, 1993, and she remarried again to Robert L. Coughlin who died on February 17, 2017; her brothers Cletus of Orange, CT, Maurice (Madelin) of Parma Heights, OH, Thomas (Marjorie) of Rocky River, OH, and sister Gloria (Floren) George of Fairview Park, OH, She is survived by her brother, Linus Losh (Jeannette, deceased) of Westerville, OH and her sister-in-law, Ann Losh of Orange, CT; her stepson, Kevin Coughlin of Natick, MA and her step-daughter, Maureen Kellond, of El Sobrante, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. A Catholic funeral mass with burial services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, OH. will be announced later.
