Frank Cappadonia, 93, of Naples, FL, died on April 10, 2022, lovingly surrounded by his wife Ellen, and their four children. He was born on September 30, 1928, in Mt. Morris, NY. as one of 8 children to Sicilian immigrants, Salvatore and Gaetanna Cappadonia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Japan from 1946-1948. Frank then attended the Rochester Business Institute, after graduation he began a 40-year career with Gerber Baby Food Company. He retired in 1993 as Director of Purchasing. He married his beloved wife, Ellen (Glover) in 1953 and they raised their four children in Rochester, NY and later in Fremont, MI.. After retirement they moved to Bonita Springs, FL, and became snowbirds for 25 years, enjoying the best of both worlds, moving later to Naples, FL He was a devoted parishioner of All Saints Church in Fremont, MI and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs. Frank’s many hobbies included racquetball, tennis, golf, woodworking, gardening, stained glass and multiple volunteer roles. He was kind to all and advocated for fairness, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure. He was cherished for his kindness, generosity, work ethic and good humor and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Frank is survived by his best friend and wife Ellen, of 68 years, of Naples, FL, his daughter Christine Newcomb of Webster, NY, son, David Cappadonia, wife Therese of Mexico, Susan M. Love, husband Scott of Boston, MA, Steven Cappadonia and partner Ellen Lutley of Grand Rapids, MI, 7 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sara Lowery of Mt.Morris, NY, sisters-in-law, Sharon Shultz of Webster, NY, Nancy Glover of Arkport, NY, Cheryl Glover of Alexander, NY, Ruthmary Cappadonia of Geneseo, NY and many dear nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph Cappadonia and Peter Cappadonia, and sisters, Fannie D’Anna, Margaret Morrreale, Josephine Palermo and Anna Sacco. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a place dear to Frank’s heart, St . Jude’s Hospital for Children. A memorial service is planned for May 21, 2022 at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel St., Mt. Morris, NY, burial services to follow.
