Gloria S. Anderson

Gloria S. Anderson of Fort Myers Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022. She was born to Rex and Frances Smiley in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Anderson and siblings, Dennis Smiley, Gerald Smiley and Herbert Smiley. Gloria was actively involved in her church. She sang at mass and coordinated the music for Sunday services at the Church of the Ascension on Fort Myers Beach. Her strong faith guided her activities and brought her peace. We know she is with God. Gloria loved the arts. She enjoyed an evening at the theater, listening to music and going to art shows. A glass of wine with friends over a meal was always special. She played bridge with lifelong friends in Iowa. To be with her, she was fully engaged in your conversation. She truly enjoyed the company of her many friends. Gloria will be fondly remembered by her friends, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister, Vivian Dorothy Finger; her children, Ellen Anderson, Mark (Vicki) Anderson, Don (Linda) Anderson, Tom (Molly) Anderson; grandchildren, Collin Tuttle, Allison Braverman, Adam Braverman, Daniel Anderson, Ella Anderson, Eliza Anderson, Lauren Anderson and Sam Anderson; great grandchildren, James Tuttle and Alex Tuttle. A rosary and mass will be held on May 26 at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church. The rosary will be said at 10:00 AM followed by the mass at 10:30 AM.
