Gregory DePree

April 12, 1944 - March 23, 2022

Gregory DePree was born the twelfth of April, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio; the oldest of three brothers born to Hugh and Ruth DePree. Growing up in Zeeland, Michigan, Greg attended Zeeland High School, where he excelled in golf and football. Greg was a graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan and earned his graduate degree from American University in Washington, D.C. Greg married twice, first to Penny Piontek in 1967 and later to Joanne Felske in 1993. After a successful career in manufacturing and accounting, Greg moved to Naples, Florida in 1986 and began a new chapter as an entrepreneur and accounting consultant, working with Sunshine Glass and Mirror, Gene’s 5th Avenue Florist, and many more. After retirement, Greg was involved daily with charitable pursuits. Working with Love, Inc., his church’s thrift store, and on the board of several charities. Perhaps his greatest contribution was to the Men’s Association at First Presbyterian Church. Here he touched so many in his efforts to learn about and celebrate the Christian faith with the family he loved at First Presbyterian. Greg is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joanne DePree; his brother, Dave DePree (and his wife, Cher); his son, Scott Depree (and his wife, Christine); his son, Scott Felske (and his wife, Karen); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great grandson on the way. Memorial services will be at 11 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, 9751 Bonita Beach Road SE, Bonita Springs, FL 34135. Inurnment will follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church. To sign Greg’s guest register or to leave online condolences, please visit www.ShikanyFuneralHome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, Family Owned and Operated since 1978.
