Gregory K. “Greg” Pearl, 64 of Fort Myers, FL passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He had moved to Southwest Florida 41 years ago, and for the past 38 years he had been a resident of Fort Myers. Greg was born September 23, 1957 in Lansing, MI the son of Rodney A. Pearl and Jeanne A. (Crooks) Johnson. His career started at Val Ward Cadillac in Fort Myers where he was a Service Writer for 18 years before spending the past 22 years as the Facilities Manager at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community. Greg was an accomplished motorcycle racer with several state and regional championship wins to his name in the late seventies and early eighties. He also had a passion for working on and restoring cars for his friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of a good set of wheels. Greg was a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community and member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10498. Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Bernadette (Magee) Pearl; loving children, Kevin Pearl of Los Angeles, CA, Gina (Justin) Pack of Dodge City, KS, Gabriella Pearl of Sanibel Island, FL, Sean Pearl of Fort Myers, FL; mother, Jeanne A. Johnson of Fort Myers, FL; sister, Laura (Paul Ehrnfelt) Pearl of Fort Myers, FL; and cherished grandchildren, Travis, Audrey and Roslynn. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney A. Pearl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. A reception will follow to celebrate Greg’s life in the Parish Life Center. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to benefit his son Sean’s education and Florida Prepaid College Fund through Venmo account: @Bernadette-Pearl (https://account.venmo.com/u/Bernadette-Pearl). Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, Family Owned Since 1978.
