Helen Lambert Kuser, 90, of Fort Myers, FL, died March 16 at Hospice Health Center in Fort Myers. Born May 20, 1931, in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of Marie Christina Hall and John Raphael Lambert. On October 9, 1954, she married James Kerney Kuser, who preceded her in death on May 20, 2014. He was the former owner of the Northwest-Signal newspaper in Napoleon, OH (1966-2003). She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bernadette Kuser, in 1961; a grandson, Alex Kuser, in 2007; and two brothers, John (Jack) A. Lambert II and John (Ray) R. Lambert Jr. She is survived by her sister, Marie Christina Vahlsing of Robbinsville, NJ; two sons, John Kuser (and wife Betsy) of Texas, OH, and Jamie Kuser (and wife Kathy) of Fort Myers, FL; a daughter, Mary Kuser Thomas (and partner Mike Chilcote), of Napoleon, OH; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Her memberships and volunteerism included the Junior League of Trenton, New Jersey Boys Club, St. Francis Hospital, Trenton Symphony Association, Junior League of Toledo, American Red Cross gray lady at Heller Memorial Hospital in Napoleon and the Maumee Valley Civic Theatre in Napoleon. As a young woman, she studied voice under Dr. Bernard Taylor of Juilliard School of Music in New York. She was a former employee of the Trenton Banking Co. and the Northwest-Signal newspaper. Her passions included playing tennis, going to see live theatre, dancing with her husband and watching movies on the big screen. She graduated in 1949 from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA. Private interment will take place at a later date in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Princeton, NJ.
