James Theodore Connors “Jim”, 87 of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully Friday, February 18, 2022 Jim was born in New York City on February 15, 1935 to parents, Catherine and Michael Connors. Jim graduated from Manhattan College and went on to have a 30+ year career for Columbia Gas Systems, ultimately culminating in the roles of Investor Relations Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Jim retired in 1991 and has been a resident of Bonita Springs over the last 32 years of a very active life. Jim is survived by his five sons: James Michael, Kevin Phillip (Amy), John Joseph, Michael Sean, Patrick Thomas; loving sister Patricia; loving partner Iris Krempasky; and two beloved granddaughters, Kennedy and Ryan. He is preceded in death by his father Michael and mother Catherine Connors. Jim lived his life with a legendary zest, which included extensive international travel experiences and a very active social life on the Gulf Coast. Jim was proud of his Irish heritage and was President of the Shamrock Club in Columbus, Ohio in 1978 as well as being the annual host for marching in the Naples St. Patrick’s Day Parade with his Manhattan College fellow alums. Jim will be remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit and his charismatic personality. An Irish Toast to a life lived fully and leaving a legacy that will be recalled by many with fondness, respect and laughter. A visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, March 3 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Shikany’s Funeral Home, 28300 S Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Avenue, North Naples, FL. The Mass will be lived streamed at https://saintjohntheevangelist.com/events/online-funeral-mass-2. Entombment will follow in Naples Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Manhattan College Pipes and Drums Band.
