Marion G. Burchfield

Marion G. Burchfield 85, of Estero, FL died January 11, 2022, from complications of COVID-19. He was born on February 1, 1936, in Tuscaloosa County, AL a son of the late Davis and Lillie (Sullivan) Burchfield. He had been a resident of Estero since 1995 coming from Chicago, IL. After completing high school, he attended the University of Indiana where he received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He then began his career with the Sears and Roebuck Department Stores as an accountant based in the Sears Tower in Chicago. He spent his entire career with Sears. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Naples. Marion is survived by his loving wife, Joan E. Burchfield of Estero, FL; two children, Mark A. Burchfield and his wife, Jill of Estero, FL and Sherry A. Melendez and her husband, David of Kouts, Indiana; seven beloved grandchildren, Brittney Alexander, Lindsay Eidson, Kyle Burchfield, Cydney Burchfield, Allison Melendez, Emily Melendez, and Grant Melendez and two great-grandchildren, Kensley and Adalynn Alexander. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Sidney Weaver and Bob Burchfield. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on March 5, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Naples 3000 Orange Blossom Dr., Naples, FL 34109.
