Mary Ann Avril Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Ann Critelli Avril of Bonita Springs, FL passed away at the age of 64 on June 29, 2022, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT following a brief illness. The daughter of Nicholas Critelli and Doris Mae Auty of Middletown, NY, she was born in Holyoke, MA. She lived many places while growing up as her father served in the U.S. Air Force. She graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg, FL, Class of 1976, where she met the love of her life, Leonard Avril. Four years later, after graduating from Nursing School at the University of South Florida, they were married and remained together for another 42 years. Her life’s work was taking care of others, whether they be patients as an RN, or her family as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Along with her husband Leonard, Mary is survived by her wonderful daughter and confidant, Marie Linde; Louis Linde, Jr. who she referred to as her favorite son-in-law; Lucia Linde, who became the light of her life; her adoring big brother, Nick Critelli; her devoted father-in-law Frederick Avril and inspiring mother-in-law Lucille Avril. She was preceded in death by her father Nicholas Critelli, mother Doris Critelli, and brothers William Critelli and Stephen Critelli. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 15, 2022 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with a memorial service immediately following at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home in Bonita Springs, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and Connecticut Hospice (www.hospice.com).
