Peggy Lee Laz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On Friday July 21st, 2022 Peggy Laz passed away at the age of 92. Peggy was born in Joplin, Missouri on March 29th, 1930 to Mary and Leonard Ott. As an only child Peggy was exceptionally close to her parents learning golf at an early age from her father who was a golf professional. While playing golf for the University of Miami she met and married Bill Joyce and together in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan they raised two children Leonard and Jennifer. Peggy remarried Gilbert Hague and following a tragic car accident that left him severely disabled she relocated to Naples, Florida and cared for him in her home for over twenty years. After Gil’s passing Peggy married Andre Laz and experienced joy again with his passion for red wine, good food, and traveling the world together until Andre’s passing in 2010. Everyone was drawn to Peggy as she was a beautiful woman who made you feel comfortable and loved. She could fit in anywhere by “dressing to the nines” at the most elegant black-tie affair or playing a heated game of poker at the family kitchen table. Peggy loved parties, dancing and shopping. She was an avid double solitaire player. Peggy dearly loved her children and grandchildren and the many friends she kept over the years. Every day for over thirty years Peggy called both of her children always interested in their lives and plans for when they could be together again. Peggy was a special woman who lived a remarkable life. She shared recently that she had a wonderful, full life with no regrets and that she was blessed to have the Lord Jesus Christ carry her through the joys and the heartaches. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Mary as well as Bill, Gilbert, Andre and her granddaughter Meredith Joyce. She is survived by her son Leonard Joyce and daughter Jennifer Schmieding as well as four grandchildren Bill Joyce Jr. (Guna) Michael Schmieding, Matthew Schmieding, and Scott Schmieding (Sanya) and three great grandchildren Juniper, Julian, and Madison. Arrangements for Peggy will take place at First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, Fl with a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Her daily phone calls always ended the same and in honor of this tradition we will forever exclaim, Mom we ”love you, love you, love you”!
