Sherry Ann Wiedmeyer

Sherry Ann Wiedmeyer, 69, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away on February 28, 2022 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs. She was born in Ft. Myers, FL and at a very young age moved to Willoughby Lake in the Northeast Kingdom of VT where she and her sister were raised by their grandmother. Sherry graduated from North Country Union High School in Newport, VT. After high school Sherry moved to Naples, FL where she met her husband of 48 years, Alvin L. Wiedmeyer, who passed on August 10, 2020. She went on to become a Pharmacy Technician, working at Golden Gate Pharmacy and Walgreens. Survivors include her son, Daniel (Jennifer) Wiedmeyer; daughter, Laura (Tom) McCormick; Alvin’s daughters, Carolyn (Alex) Randolph and Phyllis (Dale) Hunt; brother, Stephen (Susan) Pickel; sister, Merry (Art) Arace; grandchildren, Riley, Kole, Emily, Noah, Hayden, Joseph (Shena), Alan, David, and Laura; great-grandchildren, Mason, Rosanna, Chelsy, Kyle and Zachariah; great-great-grandchildren, Hailey, Braden, Zayden and Jada; Sherry’s best friend, Susan Gjertsen; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; father, Bob Pickel; step-mother, Arlene Pickel; a stepbrother, David Pickel; and her beloved cat, BoBo. Sherry loved spending time at Willoughby Lake. She had a love for reading. After her retirement, she enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with family and friends, reading and the companionship of her cats. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 1 PM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs, FL 34134.
