Wesley C. Zabel

February 17, 1951 - January 10, 2022

Wesley Zabel, 70, passed away January 10, 2022 after a 4 year battle with ALS. Wes was born February 17, 1951 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Ted and Ina Zabel. He was one of four children. He spent his entire life in St. Paul until retirement when he and his wife, Linda, moved to Bonita Springs, Florida. Wes was a loving, kind, loyal and generous man. He was a music lover, avid baseball fan, loved to travel and spend time with friends. But most of all he loved his family. His two sons, Barry and Sam, were his pride and joy. Wes is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda; sons, Barrett (Lindsey) Zabel and Samuel (Erika) Zabel; sisters, Susan (David) Opsahl and Debra (Bruce Syhre) Gibson; brothers- in-law, Joe Kaas and Michael Gause; stepfather-in-law, Robert Eggers; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Ina Zabel; brother Gary Zabel and his wife Joan; in-laws, Francis and Dorothy Gause; and sister-in-law Laura Kaas. May you rest in peace, your suffering has ended. A celebration of Wes's life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Jimmy's Event Center, 3565 Labore Road, Vadnais Heights, MN 55110. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army (https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/ways-to-give/), Wounded Warriors Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/Default.aspx?tsid=11585&ovr_acv_id=16151&campaignSource=ONLINE&source=BS22009AAABRXAA&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6oj-zPmx9QIVZz2tBh3UeAdDEAAYASACEgLvpfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) or the ALS Association (https://donate.als.org/give/314333/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq5jQ9pfa9gIVmYvICh2qAAhFEAAYAiAAEgKKZ_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#!/donation/checkout?utm_source=advertising&utm_medium=paidsearch&utm_content=primaryform&utm_campaign=google&source=PMSearch).
