Amelia A. "Millie" Cannon

Amelia A. "Millie" Cannon, 81, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024. Millie was born in Scranton, PA, to the late Peter Paul and Marion Rose (Orlando) Rescigno. Before retiring in Naples, she was a longtime resident of Moscow and Moosic, PA. Millie was a graduate of St. Paul's High School in Scranton, PA, and later earned her degree from the Mercy Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. She spent her career at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, PA, where she was a well-respected radiology technician and department supervisor. After retirement she enjoyed working part-time at Lenora’s, a clothing store in Scranton, PA. Millie enjoyed a vibrant life filled with her passions and hobbies. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and was a very skilled chef and baker. She was well known for her cooking and hosting abilities. She had an unbelievable sense of style; she loved to shop and had a wicked sense of humor. Millie was a longtime and valued member of The Club of Pelican Bay and Glenmaura National Golf Club. Millie had a young-at-heart quality and a generous nature. She fiercely loved her family and friends and filled her home with warmth and kindness. Millie was proceeded in death by her parents, her first husband, Albert Antoniacci and her second husband, Thomas J. Cannon. She is survived by her step-children, Michael J. Cannon of Salt Lake City, UT, Mollie (Reed) Haywood of Exton, PA, and Julie (Richard) Murray of Wyoming, PA; her sister, Jean (John) Micciche of Estero, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Jack, Will, Julianna, Faye and Kaia; her nieces, Stacy Micciche of Estero, FL and Jenean (Steve) Janeski of Hartsville, PA; her great-nephews; Jack and Jake; and her aunts, uncles, and cousins. Millie’s loving spirit, warm heart, and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28300 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs, FL 34134. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in Millie’s honor.
