Connie R. Sebring

Connie R. Sebring, 73, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022, surrounded by her husband, daughter and granddaughter, at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida. Born in Kermit, Texas, Connie was the eldest of two children born to Monte and Carol Mayfield. Connie grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico where she graduated from Hobbs High School and met her high school sweetheart, Ronnie Sebring, from neighboring Lovington, New Mexico. During her younger years, Connie competed as a barrel racer and after graduation she went on to attend New Mexico Junior College where she studied and began her lifelong passion in art. After they married, Ron and Connie moved to Lubbock, Texas where they lived for almost 20 years, raising their daughter and making lifelong friendships in their many social circles. From there, the couple relocated to the Ft. Myers, Florida area, where they finally settled in Bonita Springs. Connie was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi women’s sorority in both Lubbock and Ft. Myers. And together with her husband, she joined the artist’s co-op, Tower Gallery on Sanibel Island, Florida where they promoted and sold their artwork for more than 25 years. As an avid glass artist, Connie designed and crafted jewelry and home décor with her kiln-fired fused art. Connie’s biggest joy was her family, especially spending time with her only granddaughter and family trips to Walt Disney World. She is preceded in death by her father, Monte H. Mayfield. She is survived by her husband, Ron, of Bonita Springs, her mother, Carol Mayfield of Casper, Wyoming, her daughter, Candice Sebring-Kelber and son-in-law, Harvey of Bonita Springs, her granddaughter, Cameron Kelber of FGCU, her sister, Kate Ballew and brother-in-law, Bob also of Casper, a brother-in-law, Richard Sebring and his wife, Barbara, of Vancouver, Washington, and a niece, Carrie Reese (Jobe) and nephew, Drew Ballew (Mandy) along with three great-nieces and a great-nephew. A service will be held at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home in Bonita Springs, Florida followed by a celebration of her life at a date to be announced.
