Edward Joseph Roggemann

Edward Joseph Roggemann, age 71 of Ft. Myers, FL passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Edward was born October 27, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Peter and Irene (Smith) Roggemann. Survivors his wife of 33 years, Peg; one son Robert (Traci) Schneider of Wolcott, CT; four daughters, DonnaMarie (Joseph) Buffington of Clinton, CT, Stacey-Lyn Roggemann of Hamden, CT, Kim (Christopher) Coyle of Unionville, CT and Nancy (Mark Rudolph) Starnes of Ft. Myers, FL; two brothers, Peter (Barbara) Roggemann of New Rochelle, NY and Gerard Roggemann of Mount Kisco, NY; four sisters, Irene Abrams of Glen Cove, NY, Helen (Jim) Bridges of Waymart, PA, Ann Marie Gorman of Cincinnati, OH and Cecilia (Jim) Collette of Floral Park, NY; ten grandchildren that were the light of his life – Monica, Joseph Henry, Aiden, Matthew, Colin, Ethan, Joseph, Jasmin, Maria, and Chloe; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ed worked for Jackson-Hewitt for 4 years. He was owner\operator of EJR Business Services, LLC since moving to Florida in 2001. He was a member of the Elks Club in both CT and FL for many years. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Fort Myers Florida. He was a wonderful husband, loving father and brother who will be truly missed and was very involved with family. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life and he always smiled when talking about them. Dad was a man of great Faith who enjoyed to travel and day trips with his grandchildren to zoos, museums, beaches and walks and following the New York Mets faithfully throughout the year. He will be remembered for the fantastic and gentle way he would read each of his grandchildren bedtime stories. Until we visit again, funny face  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Ft. Myers, FL 33967. Burial will follow in the church memorial garden. Donations may be made in his honor to Our Lady of Light Catholic Community, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967 or Three Oaks Elementary School, 19600 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33967 where Ed's granddaughter attends school.
