Geraldine M. "Gerri" Burke

Geraldine “Gerri” Burke, age 73, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025. A resident of Bonita Springs since 2011, Gerri had previously lived in Gurnee, IL, Madison, WI, Seal Beach, CA and Cherry Hill, NJ. Born on June 18, 1951, in Queens, NY, Gerri was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas R. and Irene G. (Dallas) Burke. Gerri is survived by her loving siblings: Michael (Carol) Burke of Bonita Springs, FL, Robin Burke of Bonita Springs, FL, John Burke (Dennie Munson) of Blacksburg, VA, Suzanne (Dave) Williams of Paso Robles, CA, Kevin Burke of Maple Shade, NJ., and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. She had a long and successful career, working 17 years in administration for the Cherry Hill Board of Education in New Jersey before spending 22 years at Oscar Mayer/Kraft Foods in HR, the Wienermobile, and as a change agent/project manager. Gerri was committed to her beloved family, cherished friends, her church and her community. She loved people and always brought warmth and kindness to those around her. She will be remembered for her smile and quick sense of humor – a true people person. Gerri enjoyed attending social events, playing bocce, cheering on her Philadelphia Eagles, playing cards, and so many travel adventures. Gerri was committed to supporting various social causes and events. Following her parents lifelong spirit of volunteerism, she was an active volunteer throughout her life, most recently as a member of the Bonita Springs Fire Rescue and Control District VillageWalk CERT Team, an active member of the VillageWalk Activities Committee, phone banks to get out the vote, and food drives to benefit Café of Life. She was dedicated to giving back to the community. Gerri will be dearly missed by all. She is now at peace with her Beloved Mother and Father, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and her dog Suzy. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10:00am at St. William Catholic Church, 601 Seagate Drive, Naples, FL 34108. A reception will be held following her service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Gerri's name to the Cafe of Life, P.O. Box 367794, Bonita Springs, FL 34136.
