Janice Bernadine Brinkman

Janice Bernadine Brinkman of Naples, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born in Minster, OH on November 18, 1932 to Carl and Genevieve (Ernst) Eiting. She graduated from Minster High School in 1950 and attended the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, OH. She was married on June 14, 1952, to Frank Joseph Brinkman, also of Minster. She and Frank were long-time residents of Naples having lived previously in Minster and Piqua, OH. Jan was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Arrowhead Golf Club, Minster, OH, Piqua Country Club, Piqua, OH, Imperial Country Club, Naples, FL, the Tides Club, the Notre Dame Club of Naples, the Women’s Republican Club of Naples, and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Naples, FL. She was an avid golfer and bridge player, a regular attendee of the theater and the Philharmonic in Naples, and volunteered at The Chateau at Moorings Park. Jan loved to travel, to dine out with family and friends, and to host parties at her home. Jan was widowed in 2000 after 47 years of marriage. In addition to her beloved husband Frank, she was predeceased in death by her parents and her grandson, Shaun Fink. She is survived by her children, Lynn (Jerry) Grace, Scott (Donna) Brinkman, Carla Sommer Fink and Susan (Michael) Hyzdu, six grandchildren, Cori Sommer, Kristy Brinkman (Jeremiah) Turner, David Brinkman, Brian Sando, Chelsea Sando and Courtney Brinkman, three great grandchildren, Jamie Baisden, Gavin Baisden and Dylan Baisden, four step-grandchildren, Chris Grace and family, Michael (Nicole) Hyzdu and family, Adam (Julie) Hyzdu and family, and Marshall (Sara) Hyzdu and family, two brothers, Jack (Marie) Eiting and family and Jim (Esther) Eiting and family, one sister, Jude (Luke) Schmeider and family, and one sister-in-law, Chris (Bill) Brinkman and family. Jan will be greatly missed by both her family and her many friends. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Avenue North, Naples, Florida 34108.
