Joyce H. Lamb

Joyce Hopkins Lamb, 89 years old, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away on November 23, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Greenwich, CT, and raised in Willimantic and then Niantic, CT, graduating from the Williams School of New London, CT in 1944. She worked in Washington, DC for the FBI before returning to Niantic, CT to marry Robert F. Lamb in October of 1945. They raised their family in their hometown of Niantic. Joyce worked at the historic medical facility The Seaside in Waterford, in the lab of AMF-¬Cuneo at Millstone Beach and the cytology lab of Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. She moved on to become a successful realtor based out of Waterford, CT and later on, in Bonita Springs, FL after relocating to Estero, FL in 1981. Joyce enjoyed entertaining, travelling, the beach and warm weather, a fondness for flowers- especially all orchids, turquoise, and a great passion for reading. Joyce was always a supportive, loving and encouraging mother and was loved deeply by her children: Jennifer (and husband Arthur) Sullivan of Braintree, MA; Jessica (and husband Roland) Foster of Ledyard, CT; Peter (and wife Sue) Lamb of Newport, NH; and daughter-in-law Kathy Kunce of Pueblo, CO, as well as her grandchildren: Rebeckah Lamb of Newport, NH; Amanda Lamb of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and Robert J. Lamb (and family) of Goshen, NH, Daniel Foster (and family) of Cocoa Beach, FL; Jean Paucar (and family) of Groton, CT, in addition to her four adoring great-grandchildren. Joyce leaves behind numerous caring friends including her loyal and beloved companion of 14 years, toy poodle Cricket. She is predeceased by her daughter, Rev. Jeannine Lamb, her younger siblings, John Hopkins and Nancy Foley, and her ex-husband Robert F. Lamb. The family would like to thank all of Joyce's friends for their tremendous caring support and the caring staff of Avow Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Avow Hospice of Naples, FL, the Books-By-Mail Program of the Lee County Regional Library or a charity of one's choice. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 11:00 AM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail So., Bonita Springs, FL 34134. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
