Kenneth Craig Lougheed

Kenneth Craig Lougheed, 76, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marie Lougheed, brother Robert Lougheed, and sister Dorothy Cooper. Craig is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Frances, daughter Stacey Londres (Jeff) and son Steven Lougheed (Jaime), many loved grandchildren Nathan and Gianna Londres, Connor and Devin Lougheed, beloved nieces, nephews, brother, and sisters-in-law. Craig was born in Montclair, NJ, and raised in Wayne, NJ. He attended Wayne Valley High School and graduated from Seton Hall University where he played intramural basketball. Following graduation, he married Frances and then served in U.S. Army Intelligence. He attended the Defence Language Institute (DLI) in Fort Bliss, Texas, where he studied the Vietnamese language for a year to prepare him for his tour of duty in Vietnam. He played third base for the DLI fastpitch softball team which went on to win the Fourth US Army Championship in Lawton, Oklahoma. Craig was very proud of his service to the country he loved. Upon return, he began a career as operation manager with Allstate Insurance Company, Kemper, and Crum & Foster. Transferred to the Chicago area, he raised his children in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Craig was a wonderful husband and father. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Craig spent many winters skiing with family, summer vacations at the Jersey Shore, country dancing, and enjoying time with life-long friends. Craig retired to Hilton Head Island and, in 2011, moved to Bonita Springs where he basked in the sun and did all things Florida. He loved playing tennis, biking, kayaking, and swimming in the ocean waves. He made many friends who he loved dearly. Craig and Fran enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, and seeing the world together. While we all know that he is safely at home, our hearts are saddened by the loss of his wit, wisdom, companionship, and love of life, family, and fellow man. A Memorial Gathering will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home 28300 So. Tamiami Tr., Bonita Springs, FL. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Monday, June 21, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
