Ryan D. Overmyer

Ryan D. Overmyer, 42, of Estero, went home to be with Lord on January 23, 2020 after a brave, well-fought 2 ½ year battle with colon cancer. He was born on October 30, 1977 in Lexington, Kentucky to loving parents Richard L. and Donna L. (Demaree) Overmyer. As a child he developed a love for basketball and eventually became a huge fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. At the age of 14, his life was forever changed when he met his Savior, Jesus Christ. He graduated from Lexington Christian Academy and eventually went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Northern Kentucky University. In 1997, Ryan met the love of his life, Megan (Webb), and they were married in 1998. While living in Cincinnati, Ryan and Megan were blessed with 2 boys, Noah and Brayden. In 2004, they relocated to Southwest Florida and were blessed with 2 more boys, Drue and Gavin. Ryan had the privilege of working for Deangelis Diamond Construction Company, which he considered a special gift from the Lord. He loved his job and all the amazing people he was blessed to work with. Ryan was also a faithful servant in the church, and he loved serving alongside his wife, Megan, in the kids ministry and Recovery ministry at Summit Church. Ryan was also a devoted father. His favorite pastime was cheering on his 4 boys in whatever they were doing. It brought him great joy to see them enjoy the life that God has given them. Ryan was loved by many because he was a friend to many. The ones who knew him best knew that he loved to cruise and he delighted in being their DJ, making playlists of his favorite 80s and 90s music. Above all, people who knew Ryan understood that his love for his Savior was his greatest passion. Ryan is survived by his beloved wife, Megan, and his incredible boys, Noah, Brayden, Drue and Gavin. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Donna Overmyer, whom Ryan loved and adored, and his sister, Angela McAlister, brother-in-law, Jeff, and nephew and niece, Joshua and Kaylee. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service in honor of Ryan to be held on Sunday, January 26th at 5:00pm at Summit Church, 19601 Ben Hill Griffin Pkwy, Fort Myers. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 pm at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
