William "Bill" Moburg

William "Bill" Moburg of Jackson, Michigan, formerly Toledo, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Monday February 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents H.W. and Mary Crompton Moburg; his sisters Sylvia and Rosemary and brother Paul. He is survived by his wife of 23 years and best friend Mary Munro Moburg; his daughters Megan (Greg) Sultan of Cincinnati; Melissa (Mike) Dahlinger of Kalamazoo; grandchildren Nathan and Will Sultan; and Danielle and Hayden Dahlinger. Also surviving are three stepchildren Laura (Troy) Koszegi of Jackson; Philip (Monica) Curtis of Jackson; and Leslie (John) Patterson of Salt Lake City as well as seven step-grandchildren. Bill and Mary enjoyed 25 years together which included many wonderful trips around the world; summers spent navigating the Great Lakes on Mo's ne plus ultra project the Christina; and cruising around Wampler's, Devil's and Clark Lake on warm summer nights. Grandpa or "Momo" (as the grandchildren called him) thoroughly enjoyed his family. His grandchildren were a constant enjoyment and made him very proud. Bill was a graduate of Hillsdale College and the retired president and owner of Engineered Components, Inc. a manufacturers representative firm with offices in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina and Seattle. A salesman by profession, but an engineer at heart, Mo loved a good project big or small from renovating houses, boats and cars to mending a piece of antique furniture. He was lovingly known as the "Project Man" to those close to him. Mo also loved a good story and was a world-class story teller. He always found a way to share one of his well-oiled tales with whomever was around whether they liked it or not. There may have been a bit of hyperbole involved but most of his stories had some foundation in the truth and were frequently repeated to available listeners more than once. "Mr. Mo" (as he was also known) served as a mentor to several young men in the Jackson community who he employed to assist him with his many projects (many of which involved a water vessel of some sort.) "The College of William and Mary," as one young man referred to it, was a special place for all those who signed on for the experience but Mo may have enjoyed it most of all. Mo's last few years were full of challenges that he always met with a positive attitude and a smile. He never complained and was always happy and grateful to simply enjoy another day with his wife and family. He was loved and adored and will always be in the hearts and thoughts of those he has left behind and whose lives he touched. Fair winds and following seas Momo. A Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 10:30am with Father John Whitlock officiating. Interment will take place at South Jackson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Salvation Army, Allegiance Hospice or the charity of choice. Local arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home.
